Change management

CHALLENGE: Leading global optical retailer Luxottica engaged Sefiani on an internal communications and change management strategy to address changing market conditions and a new investment focus for the business. A key challenge was to ensure this change did not negatively affect sales or staff morale.

STRATEGY: We launched an extensive communication program to ensure all stakeholders including staff and their families, health funds, unions, landlords, suppliers, government and regulators were informed of the change. Monitoring of social media was put in place to identify and respond to any issues or concerns.

IMPACT: Prior to the announcement of the change, Sefiani offered an exclusive interview with Luxottica’s Asia Pacific President to The Australian Financial Review, which helped minimise the risk of media leaks and ensured accurate and balanced reporting. An announcement to 3,500 staff helped positively position the change to employees prior to it becoming public, as a result achieving widespread internal support.
