CHALLENGE: For the past four years, Sefiani Communications Group has worked with Foodbank NSW & ACT on a part pro-bono basis to raise awareness of Australia’s hunger crisis and help drive fundraising for Foodbank. We are also tasked with supporting Foodbank Australia in national campaigns such as the launch of the annual Hunger Report.
STRATEGY: We use a combination of press office activity, Government relations, social media content, events promotion and ambassador engagement to tell Foodbank’s story.
Our team engages case studies to help bring stories to life, while also securing the support of influencers such as former cricketer Matt Hayden and Dr. Jo McMillan to amplify our messages and reach. We have also provided support on the official opening of Foodbank’s new distribution warehouse in Glendenning.
IMPACT: Our strong relationships with key social affairs media have resulted in high-profile coverage such as 7.30, Today EXTRA, ABC Radio National, and The Daily Telegraph, among others. Over the past year, the total amount of kilos of food delivered to NSW has lifted 41%, and 6% in the ACT. An additional 203 charities have signed on to receive support from Foodbank, signifying a rise in awareness of Foodbank as a source of assistance.
