Sefiani women go red for charity June 2010
Sefiani’s female employees were out in force on Thursday 3 June for an inspirational AmCham Women in Management event, sponsored by Sefiani client AMP Capital Shopping Centres.
Sefiani staffers joined 130 influential women in business at the Heart to Heart breakfast in support of Go Red For Women, the National Heart Foundation’s campaign to raise awareness of heart disease as the number one killer of women in Australia.
As breakfast was served, journalist Tracey Spicer moderated a fascinating panel discussion which looked at the way women juggle careers, lifestyle, family and friends, while often neglecting their health.
Panelists were Deborah Thomas of ACP, CEO of the National Heart Foundation Dr Lyn Roberts, and NSW Telstra Businesswoman of the Year Rhonda Brighton-Hall, Vice President of Human Resources at Sefiani client Luxottica. In addition to providing stimulating food for thought, the event also raised $1,000 for the National Heart Foundation.
Sefiani Director and AmCham Women in Management committee member Sarah Craig, who hosted the Sefiani table of staff and journalists, said, “The candid discussion on the way women have to juggle their career and personal life was excellent, with the panellists referring often to their own personal experiences.
“It was great that many women in the audience also shared their own experiences and the panellists provided the group with some very useful tips,” she said.
