Sefiani raises over $4K for Movember December 2009
Following a challenging month of hair growing, five male Sefiani staff members have managed to raise over $4,000 to support prostate cancer and male depression research for Movember. Led by team captain Don Takaya, Hugo Shanahan, Dylan Malloch, Roger Christie and Rod Jago put down their razors to support the cause and raise awareness for those affected by these serious illnesses.
While it was a challenging month, with many of the team having never grown a moustache before, each of the Los Bigotes de Sefiani team were saddened to part with their growth though pleased with what they had been able to achieve.
"We set out to raise $1,000 each and we've been delighted with the response from friends, family and colleagues in helping us towards our target," Don said. "While we would like to think there is a difference between the original photo and the final result, the fact that we were able to raise over $4,000 is certainly comfort enough."
"Though we are yet to surpass that target, donations can still be made to the team so we hope that all those who enjoyed the spectacle of our moustachioed month will offer their support and help us reach $5K," he said.
Donations can still be made to the team through the Movember website.
"We're not sure if our clients and colleagues were able to take us seriously throughout November but hopefully we've been able to aid a greater understanding of these issues while making our own contributions to solving the problem," Don said.
